A Legacy of Nurturing Excellence
JEXTOBAN Secondary School began as a dream in 1988 – a vision shared by Pastor Emmanuel Adedayo Ojo and his wife Adunola to create a school that nurtured the “entire personality” of each student. Nigeria’s public education started losing its efficacy from the mid-80s and Pastor Ojo was concerned about the quality of graduates from public secondary schools. He and his wife decided to create an institution that will bridge that gap and nurture students’ total personality.
It took seven years of relentless pursuit for that vision to become a reality. But while pursuing that vision, the founders started offering English language studies as extramural classes. This gradually grew and blossomed.
On January 9, 1995, that dream became a reality with the opening of JEXTOBAN’s doors to its first nine students and nine dedicated staff members, in the sprawling city of Lagos. Over the past 30 years, the school has seen tremendous growth, graduating over 1,500 students and expanding to encompass three campuses.
JEXTOBAN’s mission has also evolved alongside the world. While a foundation in Christian morals remains central, the school now emphasises preparing students for a globalised future. They strive to equip graduates not only with academic excellence but also with the skills to become a qualified workforce – adaptable, employable, and even entrepreneurial.
